Doha Enterprise Company, in association with the US Commercial Service at the US embassy here, will be organising the first “Made in the USA Qatar 2009” exhibition from October 21 to 23.

The three-day event, which will take place at the Qatar International Exhibition Center, will be held under the sponsorship of the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani.

As part of the preparations, the Doha Enterprise Chairman Rashid Al Kuwari has recently signed a platinum sponsorship agreement with the Microsoft Qatar to be the official sponsor of the event.

Other agreements of sponsorship were also signed with Qatar Development Bank, the Barwa Real Estate Company and Qatar Airways.

Al Kuwari hailed the co-operation extended by the US embassy here and the Commercial Service at the Embassy towards organising Doha Enterprise during the preparations phase of the exhibition, which he described as “opening new horizons for the trade and economic ties between Qatar and the US”.

“The Made in USA 2009 Qatar exhibition comes at a time when most of the world countries are still overwhelmed by the global economic crisis. This is further evidence that our market in Qatar is encouraging and full of business opportunities for all,” Al Kuwari added.

The exhibition area will cover some 5,000 square metres.

Bashar Khundaqji, Doha Enterprise general manager, said the exhibit will provide a rare opportunity for businessmen at the two countries to forge partnerships and sign deals as well as for consumers and traders who can see the USA-made products which meet their various needs.

The “Made in USA 2009 Qatar” will showcase the latest products, services, and technology from proactive sectors as diverse as education and training services, information and communication technology, healthcare, automotive, household appliances, safety and security, heating ventilation and air-conditioning systems, oil and gas machinery, architecture construction and engineering, energy and petrochemicals, agricultural products and transportation.
