Qatar Foundation’s National Reading Campaign has invited all artists living in Doha for a competition, 5 of them were selected to be commissioned for the “Imaginative Journey” exhibition, where they created visual representations of the Journey that a book can take you on. Each artist has expressed this idea in their own style, giving the audience a wide range of ideas and mediums.

Exhibition Synopsis:
(Books have the power to take you places that cannot be reached by trains, cars or even spaceships. They have this magic ability to transport the human mind away from the written word, to a very intimate fictional universe, where you can sit with comfort and enjoy the exploration of that imaginary world.
Reading is the journey of self-discovery, where you lose yourself to gain control of yourself. The book becomes a mirror of you, but in a different reality, which offers you a better understanding of yourself.
We as human beings naturally tend to use story-telling to express ourselves, but artists have a different tool for sharing their ideas and stories.)

So please join us at the Doha Book Fair inside the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center to visit the fantastic artworks exhibited. The exhibition will be open to everyone throughout the Book Fair from November 29th to December 8th 2018
