The International Artists Doha (IAD) is set to launch its third annual exhibition entitled “Between Cultures” featuring diverse works of 22 Doha-based artists hailing from 13 countries.

Hosted and sponsored by Qatar Foundation, the expo will showcase the latest works of Doha-based artists from a variety of countries including Qatar, The Netherlands, Germany, Croatia, Australia, India, Egypt, Iran, Barbados, Portugal, Sudan, UK and the Philippines. The artworks will offer wide-ranging styles from realism to abstract.

Jean-Paul Engelen, Director of Public Art at Qatar Museums Authority (QMA) and Sheikha Hala Al Khalifa, QMA’s Head of the Artists in Residence Programmes will jointly open the exhibition on Wednesday at Al AaQool Atrium at Qatar Foundation Recreation Centre in Education City.

The artists taking part include: Marjolijn Stolk, Annette Wendling-Willeke, Urvashi Chauhan, Mohammed Al Atiq, Nourelhadi Awad, Salim Abdulla, Mahgoub Al-Magboul, Dominika Bozic, Pip Hoy, Shihar Hamza, Behnaz Larsen, Willemien Mansell, Doerte Meichsner, Jameela Al Shraim, Nigel Muter, Beverley Ross, Arnel Sarmiento, Hannelore Seckel, Verity Watkins, Pedro Boaventura and Sylvia Gomes.

In addition to original artworks on display, all artists have contributed a 30cm x 30cm piece which will be offered to the public through a silent auction, proceeds of which will go to IAD to fund their future public events.

Doors open to the public at 6pm on Wednesday. The exhibition will also be open on Thursday from 10am to 6pm, on Friday from 12noon to 6pm and on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
