The Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award is a grant award of QR 30,000 per awardee to support the initiation, further development, or completion of a photographic project by a photographer resident in Western Asia and North Africa.

Awardees will also have the opportunity to exhibit their work and participate in the public and online programme of events as part of the Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar. This open call closes on the 1st of November 2022.

Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award 2023

Submission requirements:

• Up to 20 image files in jpeg, tiff and png format, each image no larger than 2,000 pixels. Each image filename to be formatted with your last name _ title of the artwork_a number.
• The numbers at the end of the file names should be consecutive e.g.
  - Hamed_The_Genesis_1,
  - Hamed_The_Genesis_2...
  - Your artist biography (150 words maximum)
  

Your artist statement for the photographic project that you are submitting as part of your award application (250 words maximum) Your proposal for how you intend to use the Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Project Award grant to develop or initiate your in-development or new photographic project in 2023 (300 words maximum).

The Sheikh Saoud Al Thani Single Image Award is an annual award open to photographers of all ages and degrees of experience, residents in Western Asia and North Africa, to submit a single photographic image that best represents their experience and personal narrative.

Awardees will have the opportunity to have their single images presented in an online exhibition, receive a cash prize, and participate in Tasweer photo festival Qatar’s online and public programme. This open call closes on the 1st of November 2022.
