Qatar Foundation Art Trail is offering and exclusive tour of the art exhibition “Imaginative Journey” at the Doha Book Fair, where the artists will be available to meet the audience, and a curated tour will be given by the artists and the Qatar Foundation art specialist.

The tour will take place on Saturday December 1^st in DECC at 10 am and will last for 1 hour.

Qatar Foundation’s National Reading Campaign has invited all artists living in Doha for a competition, 5 of them were selected to be commissioned for the “Imaginative Journey” exhibition.

The tour will be led by artists: Khalifa Al-Obaidly, Maryam Al-Homaid, Khalifa Almarri, Paul Valentine and Sebastian Betancur-Montoya and the exhibition curator Layla Ibrahim Bacha.

Exhibition Synopsis:

(Books have the power to take you places that cannot be reached by trains, cars or even spaceships. They have this magic ability to transport the human mind away from the written word, to a very intimate fictional universe, where you can sit with comfort and enjoy the exploration of that imaginary world.

Reading is the journey of self-discovery, where you lose yourself to gain control of yourself. The book becomes a mirror of you, but in a different reality, which offers you a better understanding of yourself.

We as human beings naturally tend to use story-telling to express ourselves, but artists have a different tool for sharing their ideas and stories.)
