A fortnight-long exhibition titled Experiments with Truth will be held at Katara from today to commemorate the sesquicentennial anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The expo, hosted by the Indian embassy, will be formally inaugurated by ambassador P Kumaran at 6.30pm. The event will shed light on the teachings of the Father of Indian Nation and the happenings that influenced Gandhiji’s life during the freedom struggle.
At the exhibition, contributions made by Mahatma Gandhi during the Independence struggle will be showcased.
A spokesperson of the Indian embassy said besides the country’s Indian expatriates and Qatari citizens, the event is also expected to draw a considerably large number of other nationalities who have shown interest to learn and understand the Gandhian teachings of non-violence or ‘Ahimsa’. The expo will be held until October 31 at Katara’s Building 19, from 10am to 10pm.
