Description
The visual and auditory experiences of the National Museum of Qatar are like no other. Visitors begin their journey with the emergence of the peninsula 700 million years ago and the origins of the land that is Qatar today. Cutting edge technology brings them face to face with extinct prehistoric species and the modern diverse wildlife of the country. Dramatic cinematic sequences allow the visitor to travel back in time to witness a day in the life of the 18th century Al Zubarah port town. The turbulent period prior to Sheikh Jassim unifying the tribes is represented across huge screens. The natural resources of the gulf pearl, oil and liquid natural gas can be seen to act as a timeline in Qatari life and are majestically represented through the art of the moving image. Join us for a fascinating evening to see the art films, and meet some of the directors, as they explain how they created these beautiful cinematic experiences.
