Indian actor Jaaved Jafferi will be honorary guest at the opening ceremony of the 10th Aljazeera International Documentary Film Festival on Thursday at Ritz-Carlton Doha.
Jafferi is also a voice talent, dancer and impressionist known for his work in several Bollywood films and Indian television shows, which won him awards and gave him a formidable fan following.
The ceremony will also feature the Palestinian documentary Broken Strings by director Ahmed Hassouna. The film tackles the aggression on Gaza through the eyes of children and sensitive themes of dreams and music.
A total of 161 films from 60 countries will vie for awards. They include 34 long, 51 medium, 45 short and 31 new horizon films. They were chosen from among 910 films from 110 countries. The Peninsula
