The best way to know about a country's cuisine is through its street food. That's where the authenticity of that country, the traditions and the culture can be found.
India's street food is a culinary journey in itself, and Jamavar Doha has brought that journey to its restaurant at the Sheraton Grand Doha Resort and Convention Hotel just so you can try, savour and enjoy the street food that's made India an important place on the food map of the world! The Khau Galli Brunch!
Khau Galli which literally means 'eating street', reflects the khau gallis that are famous all over India, for the delicious Indian street food that includes meals, snacks, desserts, hot and cold beverages you will find in these streets that are synonymous with the culture of the city they're in.
The ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team tried out this special brunch on Friday (26 November 2021) and were awestruck by the lip-smacking street food of India and a unique potpourri of incredibly satisfying flavours.
The Jamavar Doha Khau Galli Brunch has been inspired by Indian street food that is unique, delicious and as authentic as it can get, and it's just what you need to treat yourself on a Friday afternoon.
The Khau Galli Brunch brings the energy of Indian street food to Doha in the form of a fine-dining table brunch experience complete with an elegant and sophisticated ambience, but with the same authentic taste as the streets of India!
Jamavar Doha has a rather interesting beverages menu for its Khau Galli Brunch. It's on a slate-like tablet. You decide which flavour you want from pineapple, grape, saffron, rose, mint and others, slide the stick and uncover one of Jamavar Doha's incredible signature beverages like Kala Khatta, Jaipur – The Pink City and Jamavar Lemon Sorbet.
There's more on offer, you just need to choose!
When it comes to authentic Indian food, Jamavar Doha has got it just right. If you're from India, the appetisers will take you back home to a Khau Galli in your city, and even if you're not, you'll experience the food that makes Indian cuisine a culinary delight all around the world.
You'll get to experience Chowpatty Keema Pao, Marine Drive Chicken Frankie, Bharwan Mirchi Pakoda, Lucknowi Murgh Potli Samosa, Soya Galouti with Sheermal, Lagan Ki Raan on Warqi Paratha, and the Tandoori Lobster. Each street food has its own distinct flavour, and each one is a delight to eat.
Once you're done with the appetisers, the Chef has a surprise for you. He serves two of his specialty pass arounds for you to enjoy and puts everything together in front of you.
The result is phenomenal and you'll get to taste some of the Chef's favourite Indian street food that is nothing less than a treat for your taste buds.
For the Khau Galli, Jamavar Doha has put together its best-loved dishes like the Kacche Gosht Ki Biryani with Raita, Murgh Makhani, Dal 'Jamavar', Fenugreek potatoes and a basket of India's favourite breads.
