Visiting with my friend on a fine afternoon, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and shown to a fabulous table situated in their stunning restaurant. We were made to feel welcome and relaxed into what came to be a truly pleasant dining experience. A pleasing dining experience begins from the moment you enter the Majlis restaurant. I felt in love with the place even before trying their food. The venue has just the right vibe for what I want out of a place that serves good food with a much more relaxed vibe than a restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is distinctly modern that gives high expectations for the visitor to enjoy their time with their loved ones.
You can also settle on the back patio if the weather permits you. The beautifully manicured garden, waterside location, fantastic views of The Pearl – make it an idyllic outdoor dining destination for the fresh-air-loving foodies.
The restaurant’s exciting menu offers traditional cuisine through modern touches. Each dish we tried arrived as its own beautifully crafted creation.
My gastronomic journey started with the rocket salad that was combined with goat cheese, onion wedges, walnut, olive oil, and lemon – a wonderful mix that leaves you craving to have more!
We also tried Fattoush salad - a colorful salad that was bursting with fresh produce like, Roman lettuce, tomato, spring onion, cucumber, fried bread, and radish. It was refreshing, crisp and satisfying.
Then, we ordered Mix Grill which was served hot with several side items. Lamb chops were melting in the mouth, it was very well done with a perfect blend of spice and flavour.
There is nothing like indulging in a sweet treat every now and then, so I always make room for desserts. And of all the Middle Eastern desserts, Kunafa rules all, there’s nothing like it to beat its royalty. So I tried their Kunafa and to be honest, it didn’t disappoint me at all! Delicately crunchy knafeh crust cradling a molten layer of mozzarella cheese with a drizzle of scented sugar syrup provided the perfect taste of Kunafa.
I also tried the Turkish Baklava that was lined by ice cream which enhanced the experience. The baklava was flaky, crisp and tender and I love that it wasn’t overly sweet—it’s basically a party in your mouth and a sure way to tempt your taste buds!
In conclusion, we were totally satisfied with the whole experience! The plates they served us, were excellent, delicious flavors, balanced and some unprecedented. We felt like every dish that came out of the kitchen was prepared with passion and love. For those whose priority is good food in a lovely atmosphere, this is definitely a recommended place.
