La Parisienne is a lovely French Café located at InterContinental Doha The City. It's a traditional Parisian Salon de Thé, Pâtisserie, and Boulangerie, bringing the vintage spirit of La Belle Époque from Paris in the middle of the hustle and bustle of West Bay.
Visiting with my family on a Friday morning, we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff and shown to a fabulous table situated in their stunning cafe. We were made to feel welcome and relaxed into what came to be a truly pleasant dining experience. To know more about this café, scroll all the way down to find out some fantastic reasons to visit La Parisienne with your family and friends.
A full experience from the moment you enter the door, La Parisienne Doha offers you the quintessential Parisian experience, and the views inside are equally compelling, with art peppered throughout. The interior conveys classic French bistro in the best possible way—it’s casual, comfortable and cozy – exactly the kind of place you would want in your neighbourhood. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and attentive.
The menu at La Parisienne Doha is carefully created – plenty of choices yet not overwhelming. The traditional French cuisines are made with modern influences.
The Boulangerie brings the traditional art of baking bread from France to Doha, freshly baked baguettes, breads, and croissants made from French flour and butter are being served warm and crusty throughout the day. Along with this, at La Parisienne Doha, you have the chance to indulge in signature savouries and pastries developed by award-winning Executive Pastry Masterchef David Girard.
So I began with Berry Mary smoothie, it was blended with banana-berries – a perfect mouth-watering smoothie to make you refresh. It’s also a nutritious low-fat alternative to traditional shakes and sodas. Then I requested for Pain Bagnat and it surpassed all the expectations - a play of flavours and textures contained in each and every bite.
Our mains were bursting with other delicious cuisines like Quiche Lorraine, Quiche Slamon and Dill, Turkey and Butter on Baguette and we devoured them too fast. No doubt that the French head chef here is clearly well-versed in his craft!
You’ll also find a large choice of coffee, like - espresso, Americano, Cappuccino, café latte, French press or even Falvoured Coffee with your choice of syrup. For the tea selection, there are also several options, from English breakfast, Earl Gray tea and even herbal to green tea.
There is nothing like indulging in a sweet treat every now and then, so I always make room for desserts. And the best thing at La Parisienne is that you will find here popular French desserts alongside sweet treats that are usually hard to find outside of France!
For example, homemade pastries by Chef David including the ever famous Macarons, Paris-Brest and the unique Coffee-Date Éclair.
So at first, I dug into Pyramid Chocolate Noisette, I enjoyed the combination of chocolate mousse and hazelnut with its iconic pyramid shape. Then I couldn’t hold myself without trying Paris-Brest as I heard from Chef David that this is one of the most popular desserts in France.
He also mentioned that Paris-Brest was introduced first in 1910 in order to celebrate a cycling event, a race from Paris to Brest and back to Paris. It is puffed dough filled with praline cream - circular in shape, representing a wheel – a perfect dessert to meet your sweet cravings.
In conclusion, we were totally satisfied with the whole experience! The plates they served us, were excellent, delicious flavours, balanced and some unprecedented. We felt like every dish that came out of the kitchen was prepared with passion and love. For those whose priority is good food, this is definitely a recommended place.
