Doha Festival City (DHFC) lives up to its name. When it comes to entertainment (theme parks!), fashion, retail, and dining (more than 100 tasty places to enjoy!), Qatar’s largest mall and entertainment complex offers up some unique firsts for Doha’s dining scene.

With both its massive North and South food courts now open, visitors to DHFC can explore a wide array of restaurants, cafés, fast-food, and casual dining outlets. With many marking a first for Qatar’s food and dining options, we thought we’d take you on a culinary tour of sorts show you why DHFC is haven for foodies!

So, without further ado – here’s just a sample of what’s worth checking out!

800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria

Qatar’s foodie faithful have been waiting ages for this popular Italian hotspot to open its ovens in DHFC! Coming all the way from sunny Los Angeles, it’s the brand’s first outlet in Qatar, and its ambiance is warm, casual, and welcoming – just like an Italian family kitchen!

So what’s on the menu? Expect hearty, home-y fare a la Little Italy that caters to something for everyone! They recently launched a new menu of assorted appetizers and mains created by Master Pizzaiolo Rosario Accaria, offering an invigorated take on options for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike! They even offer a pizza base that’s 95% gluten-free and a delicious array of freshly-made Italian desserts and freshly-brewed Italian coffees.

Our faves? The comforting Veggie or Meat-Lovers Lasagna, classic Spaghetti Bolognese, the richly luscious Shrimp and Mushrooms Risottos, and a to-die-for Chocolate Fondant to cap it all off! Bellissima!

Aimee’s Café

One of DHFC’s original foodie concepts, Aimee’s Café is a unique, upscale, independent outlet that tempts your taste-buds with mouth-watering light bites, heartier dishes, and scrummy desserts! The restaurant’s Tiffany-blue interior and whimsical décor makes for a perfect backdrop against which to enjoy its equally inspired menu.

We couldn’t pass up the Fried Shrimp Tacos, Braised Short-Ribs, and Macaroni and Cheese – the ultimate comfort food offerings! And for dessert? Their Aimee’s Signature Cream Cheese Cake is a must-try.

Café Coco

The perfect spot to catch up with friends after an afternoon of retail therapy, DHFC’s soon-to-open Café Coco is an eccentric restaurant and patisserie serving up an innovative take on artisanal cuisine. The service is also note-worthy, and the environment welcoming and stylish.

The focus at the DHFC gem is sourcing the best and freshest ingredients, and their all-day menu serves forward-thinking takes on European dishes and international favourites, with breakfast, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, specialty dishes, and dessert all on offer at the all-day dining hub.

Be sure to keep an eye out for their Lobster Club Sandwich (serious yum!), the Coco Burger made with a home-baked croissant bun, and topped it off with a helping of their Coco Passion Mousse with passion-fruit, coconut, pineapple, and almond biscuit – the ultimate sweet refresher!

Five Guys

Be prepared to wait in line at what is undoubtedly Doha’s most popular burger joint. Located directly across from VOX Cinema on the first floor at DHFC, this American transplant offers up some of the sloppiest, juiciest, most addictive burgers this side of the Gulf.

One of the fastest-growing fast-food chains in America, it now boasts 1,500 across North America, the U.K., Europe, and the Middle East. What makes the Five Guys experience unique is not so much its no-frills, cafeteria-style atmosphere, but it’s hand-grilled patties sandwiched between fresh-baked buns that sop up all the juices and act as fodder for their premium toppings.

Their fries are also cooked in pure peanut oil – giving them that extra-golden crunch. Here’s a not-so-secret tip when ordering: Ask for a dash of their signature Cajun spice over your fresh batch!

Ever this this French supermarket brand opened its first branch in Qatar in West Bay, it’s become a hub for foodies seeking a wide range of hard-to-find specialty products and a wide range of organic and gluten-free offerings.

Having now opened the largest Monoprix Hypermarket in the world at DHFC, the brand has introduced a concept that’s centred on offering customers an enhanced in-store experience. Step inside and you’ll find a restaurant/food court, clothing and electronics, kitchen gadgets and organic food sections, and even a dedicated candy section!

Shoppers will also find a wide selection of Made In Qatar products from Baladna Farms, Qbake, Dandy, and Rayyan, including fresh items from local farms. Foodies familiar with the French brand, will also find a few signature Monoprix sections throughout the store that highlight the best of its French heritage – including an authentic French bakery, MCrust, and the cheese-lovers haven, ‘La Cave a Fromage’ stocked with the finest selection of international cheeses.

We also love the fact that Monoprix’s DHFC branch is essentially one-stop shopping and with some of the freshest local and imported produce – their fruits and vegetables section is huge! If there’s something you need, but have had trouble finding – nine times out of ten you’ll find it at Monoprix!

We couldn’t cap off our tasty round-up without finishing up with dessert. Hence, we head over to Neuhaus – DHFC’s ultimate option to satisfy your sweet tooth. Their Maître Chocolatier’s sole job is to tempt you with his sultry cocoa creations, drawing on top-tier ingredients and masterful craftsmanship to create edible works of art. With the first shop opened by Jean Neuheus in the infamous Queen’s Gallery in Brussels, the landscape of Belgian chocolate has been revolutionized – garnering international acclaim for their luxurious chocolates and gift packages. Oh, how sweet it is!
