W Doha appoints Stephane Buchholzer as its Executive Chef

W Doha Hotel & Residences, the first luxury lifestyle hotel in Qatar, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Stephane Buchholzer as its new Executive Chef. The culinary master will bring over 25 years of global industry expertise, creating a mélange of tantalizing flavours across the hotel’s award-winning restaurants.

Born in Alsace, Chef Buchholzer began his career at a culinary school South of France, becoming the youngest masterchef in the country at the age of 15. He then set out to train under some of the world-renowned chefs in the likes of Chef Jean-Yves Schillinger. At the age of 24, he assumed the role of Executive Chef at Schillinger’s famous L'Actuel restaurant, and was heralded as the youngest chef in New York City.

Following his gourmet conquests across the United States of America, Chef Buchholzer travelled through Europe to study the evolution of molecular gastronomy. He was quickly elected as the Chef de Cuisine at Le Meridien Dubai Mina Seyahi, spearheading the creation of TANG and Raw bar Lounge that were acclaimed for its refined and ultimate gastronomic dining experience. His innovative deftness catapulted him to the position of Complex Executive Chef of Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina and Le Meridien Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and Marina, where he pre-conceptualized, co-created and developed the 14 F&B outlets within the luxury complex.

Today, Chef Buchholzer is set to take Doha’s food connoisseurs by storm. As W Doha’s Executive Chef, he will steward the kitchens at Spice Market, Market by Jean-Georges, La Spiga by Papermoon, W Café, Crystal as well as caterings for high-profile events inside and outside the property. In addition, he will oversee kitchen operations at Paper Moon and the IN-Q Café at the Hamad International Airport, delivering international standards of culinary excellence and bringing his interesting recreations and molecular gastronomy specializations.
