We all know how unforgiving summers in Qatar can be and eating a delicious serving of ice cream provides a welcome reprieve. While we all have our favorite flavors from the well-known ice cream brands that we can easily find in supermarkets and local stores, it won't hurt to try interesting ones from restaurants and ice cream joints.
One scoop is never enough so prepare to get brain freeze because the ILoveQatar.net (ILQ) team listed down five ice cream spots and flavors to beat the summer heat.
Home of the OG Puffle Cone, Cauldron Ice Cream is a brand that originated in California in 2014. It has over 10 locations worldwide. According to its website, they make homemade all-natural ice cream in small batches then rotate and create new flavors every quarter. Try their signature flavor, The Cauldron, which is a vanilla cinnamon ice cream topped off with crushed Oreo cookie.
With a very aesthetic store design painted in eye-catching pink and blue, Cloud & Co. is hard to miss when you're in Msheireb Downtown. They serve gelato made from scratch which is also dairy-free and vegan. Their current seasonal flavor is mango.
Feeling adventurous? Try Persian Ice's Bastani and Faloodeh flavors. Bastani is an Iranian ice cream that is usually made from milk, eggs, sugar, rose water, saffron, vanilla, pistachios, and also frozen clotted cream. Salep is occasionally used as an ingredient. Meanwhile, faloodeh is more akin to a sorbet. This frozen dessert is made of vermicelli noodles in rose water, sugar and lime juice. Try Persian Ice's Super Bastani Mix and Faloodeh Shirazy.
Açaí is all the rage and if you love it then you need to also try MYLK's açaí soft-serve ice-cream made from scratch and all-natural ingredients. The alternative destination said that their açaí soft-serve is vegan, gluten-free, free from preservatives & refined sugar. You can enjoy their soft-serve in a cone or a cup.
Bringing people and healthy nutrition together, Lean N Fit's ice creams are not only Instagrammable but they've proven to be a hit. Aside from their base flavors, their combos are worth a try. Check out Cherry Berry & Salted Coconut or the Banoffee & Chocolate.
