This past weekend, February 7-10, Qatar’s very first Biryani Festival kicked off at Hotel Park Doha, tempting visitors with more than 100 varieties of spicy, flavourful biryani, served up piping hot from more than 45 different vendors.
The four-day long event saw delicious delicacies and blends of spices mixed with various styles of biryani from all over Southeast Asia, drawing in thousands of hungry visitors seeking at taste of it rich, exotic flavour.
Now expected to be an annual gathering, festival organizers, exhibitors and suppliers expressed their appreciation from Qatar’s government agencies for their support in making the first event a success.
Highlights at the 2018 Biryani Festival included stalls from local Qatari exhibitors, and some truly out-of-this-world incarnations of biryani, including a biryani burger, biryani arancini, and biryani masala soda from one exhibitor – Zaffran Dining Experience!
