Qatar Airways to operate flights to and from 13 destinations in India

As part of the Qatar-India "air bubble" deal, Qatar Airways has opened bookings on flights between Qatar and 13 cities in India from August 18 to August 31, 2020.

According to Qatar Airways, it will operate flights via the following cities in India:

  • Ahmedabad
  • Amritsar
  • Bengaluru
  • Chennai
  • Delhi
  • Goa
  • Hyderabad
  • Kochi
  • Kolkata
  • Kozhikode
  • Mumbai
  • Nagpur (booking did not start yet)
  • Thiruvananthapuram

One-way and return flight tickets to and from Doha and these 13 destinations can be booked through the airline's website.

According to the "air bubble" deal, only the following passengers from the mentioned categories below will be accommodated in the flights:

  1. From India to Qatar
    1. Qatari nationals
    2. Any Indian national holding any type of valid Qatar visa and destined for Qatar only. It would be for the concerned airlines to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian nationals to enter Qatar with the particular visa category before the issue of ticket/ boarding pass to the Indian passenger.
  2. From Qatar to India
    1. Indian nationals stranded in Qatar
    2. All Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders holding Qatari passports, and
    3. Qatari nationals (including diplomats) holding a valid visa issued by an Indian mission in any category covered under Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guidelines dated 30 June 2020.

Qatar Airways reiterated that all passengers should abide by the regulations published by the Government of their destination country before travelling. Detailed and updated information about the required COVID-19 RT-PCR medical test can be found on Qatar Airways' website.

The Embassy of India, Doha, released a statement last August 14, 2020, stating that India and Qatar have reached an agreement to facilitate travel between the two countries from August 18 to August 31, 2020.
