A new update on the Travel and Return to Qatar Policy for COVID-19 has been announced by the Ministry of Public Health, which will come into effect on Monday, 28 February 2022 at 7 pm (Qatar time). This update coincides with the marked decline in the number of COVID-19 cases and the success of the COVID-19 vaccination campaigns in Qatar.

CITIZENS AND RESIDENTS COMING FROM NON-RED LIST COUNTRIES

Citizens and residents who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are excluded from conducting a PCR test before traveling back to Qatar regardless of the departure countries.

CITIZENS AND RESIDENTS COMING FROM RED LIST COUNTRIES

  • Citizens and residents who are not vaccinated or non-immune must take the PCR test 48 hours before departure if they come from the red list.
  • Please note, Qatar removed Green and Exceptional Red List countries starting from 28 February 2022 at 7 pm.

VISITORS

  • If you are a visitor and fully vaccinated or recovered, you must submit a negative pre-travel PCR test result within 48 hours before the departure.
  • If you are not vaccinated or non-immune, you cannot enter Qatar.

The Ministry of Public Health stressed that the travel and return policy to Qatar is a key criterion in the success of Qatar's strategy to combat COVID-19 by applying several strict precautionary measures to those coming to Qatar, which has effectively contributed to the lowest mortality rates affected by COVID-19 in the world.

The ministry explained that the aim of the updates in the travel and return policy is to facilitate the process of travel and return to Qatar with full commitment to all means that will protect and protect the community from the threat of the COVID-19 virus. The Ministry of Public Health has invited them to visit its website for more details and information on travel policy updates and return to Qatar (www.moph.gov.qa).
