386 people referred to Public Prosecution for violating COVID-19 precautionary measures

The designated authorities referred 337 people to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory. In addition, 44 people were prosecuted for violating the number of people allowed in a vehicle, 3 people for not installing the EHTERAZ app, and 2 persons for not maintaining a safe physical distancing.

As of 18 February 2021, the total number of people caught for not wearing masks is now 14,169 while those violating the number of people allowed in a vehicle is 568.

The measure is in line with the Cabinet decision, Decree-Law No. 17 of 1990 on infectious diseases, and the precautionary measures in force in the country to contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).

The designated authorities called on the public to adhere to the precautionary measures in place to ensure their safety and the safety of others.
