Some would look at the coronavirus pandemic as a crisis, but I see it as a breakthrough that is making us realize that we were, in fact, living in a crisis long before.⠀⠀
A crisis that shifted our priorities in life. Is it our family or our work? Our children or our friends?⠀
A crisis of pursuing material things in life, until that very desire shackled us, even after we claimed to abolish slavery. ⠀
A crisis borne of a world that revolves around currency, where the value of people is based on how large their bank balance is, not the balance of their moral values.⠀
I believe that the coronavirus, as it occupies every moment and mind, is dismantling this facade that we built up for ourselves, and forcing us to come back to our senses.⠀
Maybe it is a beginning.⠀
