In a Tweet, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced that as part of Qatar's comprehensive measures to protect the health and safety of travellers and the community, the medical teams at Hamad International Airport is conducting random COVID-19 tests on a small sample of travellers arriving into Qatar.

The Ministry also said the following:

  • Any traveller may be included to take part in the random testing.
  • The random sampling is in addition to the mandatory pre-travel PCR test requirement.
  • If you are selected to be part of the random sample, you will be notified by the medical teams once inside the terminal.
  • Medical teams will then ask you to take a PCR test. This test is free of charge and should only take a few minutes.
  • You will then be free to continue your passage into Qatar and your Ehteraz status will remain green while the PCR test result is processed.
  • You will be notified by SMS of the PCR test result within 24 hours. Travellers testing positive on PCR test will be notified about the required actions they must take.

The Ministry thanked all for their cooperation and understanding as they continue to take all necessary measures to protect travellers and the community from COVID-19.
