Qatar Chamber has launched 'Takatuf Initiative' with a view to urging its members, public and private joint-stock companies and businessmen to support the country's efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
The initiative aims to mitigate the economic impacts of the precautionary measures taken by the country to protect citizens and residents from COVID-19 through providing in-kind support as a contribution to provide governmental needs required for these measures.
The Qatar Chamber said it has set on its website an electronic form to fill by companies that are willing to support the initiative, adding that under this initiative, the Chamber is a mediator and link between the supporting companies and beneficiaries.
The Chamber said the step comes in view of the Chamber's national duty, its social responsibility and its role in serving the Qatari private sector. It also intended to enhance the inter-private sector support, whereas large companies and entrepreneurs are encouraged to provide support for small businesses and companies, whose owners face many challenges, such as rental costs and other challenges.
Qatar Chamber's Emergency Committee held today a meeting to review mechanisms of implementing the initiative and to review how to use the electronic form that was launched on its website.
