The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has announced that Vaccination Center Industrial Area has been established at the previous Medical Commission facility and is the result of a collaboration between the Ministry of Public Health, Hamad Medical Corporation and Qatar Charity, with support from the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and ConocoPhillips-Qatar.

“The opening of this centre further strengthens the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program, adding to more than 35 vaccination centres across Qatar, and will significantly boost access to COVID-19 vaccines for people living and working in the Doha Industrial Area and surrounding regions. The centre will administer first and second dose vaccinations in line with the national priority groups and enable Qatar to continue expanding the national program which has already administered more than 1,079,000 doses,” said H.E. Dr. Al Kuwari.

The vaccination centre will open six days a week from 7 am to 7 pm and operate on a strict invite-only basis for the following priority groups:

  • People 40 years of age and above regardless of their health conditions
  • People with moderate chronic medical conditions
  • Key workers in different industries

Dr. Khalid Abdulnoor, Senior Consultant Emergency Medicine at HMC and lead for the Vaccination Center Industrial Area, said: “I would like to thank all the partners involved in the preparations over the past few weeks for their support. The opening of the vaccination centre will greatly enhance access to vaccines for people in the Doha Industrial Area. With more than 120 vaccination stations set up within the centre the facility has the capacity to vaccinate large numbers of people each day.”

“Access to the vaccination centre will be by invitation only and we will not accept any walk-in people. Individuals should bring their QID, health card or passport with them and must show their green Ehteraz status. The vaccination process will take approximately 30 minutes from the time of arrival at the centre and includes a period of observation where medical teams will monitor vaccine recipients for any signs of side effects,” explained Dr. Abdulnoor.

The Vaccination Center Industrial Area becomes the fourth specialist vaccination centre to be established to support the delivery of the vaccination program at all 27 primary health centres, following the opening of the vaccination centre at Qatar National Convention Center and the two drive-through vaccination centres, in Lusail and Al Wakra.
