The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) in a Tweet, announced the easing of Covid-19 precautionary measures in mosques, in line with Qatar’s latest plan to gradually lift the restrictions effective from 3 October 2021.

As per the official announcement,

  • No need for social distancing during obligatory and Friday prayers.
  • Maintain a distance of 1 meter during the Friday sermon.
  • Open toilets and perform ablution in non-crowded areas.

The Ministry called upon mosque-goers to adhere to and abide by the precautionary controls and procedures, in order to ensure the safety of worshipers and members of society, like showing Ehteraz app for entrance, bringing each person his own prayer rug, taking care to wear a mask.
