The Ministry of Public Health decided to allow auctions to resume in Al Sailiya Central Market with the implementation of necessary precautionary measures, as reported in Al Sharq Newspaper.
"Local auctions are an essential part of the added value of local products because they support them by providing safe distribution outlets for local producers," said Dr. Muhammad Ali Al-Hajjaj, head of the Occupational Health Department at the Ministry of Health, during a video posted on the social media channels of the Ministry of Public Health.
He added: The auctions will be allowed to resume in accordance with the following precautionary measures:
Al-Hajjaj added: The following additional measures are also applied to ensure the safety of workers and merchants in the sales yard, including allocating different times for private auctions and local products or direct selling to the importer, greatly reducing the number of farmers, merchants and employees present in the yard, and setting up physical barriers between registration employees and merchants.
The Ministry of Health urged traders and farmers to adhere to the precautionary measures to support the government's efforts to continue operating the remaining auctions in the wholesale markets in general, and it is important to remember that Covid 19 is present despite the low number of cases.
