The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has decided to set a flat rate for the (COVID-19) swab test in private health facilities at QR 300 (three hundred riyals) effective Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Mrs. Nora Abdullah Al-Mulla, Director of the Health Care Facilities Licensing and Accreditation Department, explained that the new pricing decision comes to reduce the burden on individuals, especially after the temporary suspension of COVID-19 testing for individuals wanting to travel abroad. This decision came to reduce the pressure on the healthcare staff at the health facilities and help them focus on providing services to people infected or suspected of being infected with (Covid-19) and people receiving the virus vaccine.

She emphasized that the Ministry will monitor the commitment of private health care facilities to the uniform price of swabs, and praised the great cooperation of private health care facilities, which are considered an essential partner for the public health sector, and play an important role in supporting its efforts, especially in the period of facing the (Covid-19) pandemic.
