MoPH confirms the first cases of Omicron COVID-19 in Qatar

The Ministry of Public Health announced the first discovery of four cases of the Omicron mutant of the Covid-19 virus in the State of Qatar.

The ministry explained that the four cases that were discovered were all citizens and residents returning to the State of Qatar after traveling abroad.

The ministry indicated that the four infected people were following the specific quarantine requirements, and none of them required hospitalization, and the injured will continue to be quarantined until they are cured and the results of the tests conducted for them appear negative.

The Ministry of Public Health indicated that three of the four individuals infected with the omicron mutation had already received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, and more than six months had passed since receiving the second dose, while one of the four cases was a person who did not receive the vaccination.

The Ministry of Public Health called on all members of society to do their part to combat the Corona Virus (Covid-19) pandemic through three measures, namely:

  1. Receiving the vaccination against Covid-19 and receiving the booster dose of the vaccine as soon as they are eligible to receive it.
  2. Immediately conduct tests if symptoms and signs of Covid-19 infection are suspected.
  3. Commitment to the precautionary measures to prevent Covid-19 approved by the state.
