The Health Monitoring Section of the Doha Municipality implemented an inspection tour of food establishments in various regions, during which 132 minutes were issued in violation of Law No. 8 of 1990 regarding monitoring human food regulation and its amendments, and implemented the administrative closure of 47 violating food establishments. The violations included preparing foodstuffs in unhealthy conditions, exercising activities contrary to the ones in the commercial licenses, and employing workers who did not have health certificates or expired ones.

During these intensive inspection tours, it was ensured that all food establishments applied health requirements and prevent the employment of any worker with symptoms. The inspectors of the section, in cooperation with specialists of the Ministry of Public Health, distributed posters, brochures, and educational publications on ways of Coronavirus (Covid-19) prevention and gave health instructions to workers in food establishments.

Also, other municipalities have implemented similar morning and evening inspection and awareness campaigns on restaurants, bakeries, stores, food establishments, and local agricultural products selling yards, resulting in the release of many records of violations and administrative closure. These campaigns aimed at ensuring that all health requirements are met and the extent of the commitment of employees of food establishments to wear gloves and masks, as well as the availability and validity of health certificates for workers. The campaigns also included spraying and sterilization operations in some locations within the geographical limits of each municipality, in the context of ensuring the health and safety of the public.

Within the Ministry of Municipality and Environment's efforts to complete the procedures for ending the winter camping season, the Cleanliness Department removed tons of waste from camping sites in several regions of the state, in addition to applying the law on public cleanliness and obliging violators to remove their waste.
