The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, represented by the General Department of Endowments, announced the distribution of the third batch of food baskets for needy families in the State of Qatar which was affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Ministry of Awqaf has been keen on supporting Hifz AlNaema Center and supporting the families registered with it, which reached nearly 1500 families with more than 6000 individuals in these families, as it provided them with integrated food baskets through the first and second basket, in addition to cooperating with Widam company to distribute meat to the same families.
On Eid Al Fitr, the Ministry distributed Eid clothing to these families and approximately 2600 workers, through the management of Zakat Fund.
In this regard, HE Director-General of the General Directorate of Endowments Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Thani stressed the keenness of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs to develop food baskets and encourage Hifz AlNaema Center to reach through this initiative to all families affected by the epidemic of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), stressing that the increase in the number of beneficiaries of this initiative has already been done after the first distribution, following the increase in the number of beneficiaries who have been registered at Hifz AlNaema Center according to precise criteria.
His Excellency said that they are trying through food baskets initiative to contribute to the continuity of the mission of Hifz AlNaema Center and help them reach the largest number of beneficiary families, calling on everyone to provide support at the beginning of the third phase.
