[UPDATED] List of beaches that will reopen on July 1 for Phase 2

As Qatar moves on to Phase 2 of the gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, more establishments and services are reopening. This includes restaurants, museums, heritage sites, souqs, and wholesale markets. This is in addition to the shops in malls, parks, and mosques that were reopened during Phase 1 which started on June 15. We've put together a list of the beaches that will reopen on July 1 - from public hotels to hotel and resort beaches in Qatar!

Public and Family Beaches

According to the announcement from the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management, all parks and beaches as well as the Corniche will be reopened for people of all ages while continuing to practice social distancing. Play areas will remain closed.

  • Katara Beach - The Cultural Village Foundation Katara is planning to open its beaches on July 1, 2020, following the directives of the government. Katara has taken all necessary measures to ensure the social distancing and disinfected the Kids playground and the boats. Katara equipped the beaches with 130 sitting places in beach 3, 100 sitting places in beach 4, and 50 sitting places in beach 5. Each sitting place can accommodate up to 6 persons with a space of 3 meters between each sitting spot. Swimming is allowed in beaches no 3 & 4. Jetski ramp will be operative for personal jetskis on 1st July 2020 from 3 pm until sunset. It should be noted that Katara Beach will open to visitors daily from 3 in the afternoon until 10 in the evening.

Fuwairit Beach - Turtle hatching season is until August 31, 2020. Culture Pass members can sign up for the organized visits to the nesting grounds from July 2 to August 31.

Grand Hyatt Doha Hotel & Villas

The beach will be open for in-house guests only. For more information, call 4448 1234. The beach will be open from 9 am to sunset.

Hilton Doha

Prior reservation is required for beach access. Call 4423 3352 or email [email protected].

InterContinental Doha

The Bay Club will be opening on the 1st of July with the following details:

  • Entrance from Tennis reception only - Face mask and Ehteraz app will be checked prior to entry
  • Prior bookings only: call +974 4484 4828 / 4980 or email [email protected]
  • Regular openings timings: 9 am to 6 pm
  • Normal pricing as before incl ladies days (attached), including access only
  • Watersports available as normal
  • Social distancing is enforced and gatherings are prohibited

Sharq Village & Spa

The beach will be open for guests staying in the hotel, members, and walk-in guests with prior reservations. Weekday rates start at QR 200 for adults and QR 50 for children 2 to 12 years old. Weekend rates start at QR 250 (female), QR 350 (male), QR 100 (children). Swim and dine (lunch at Al Alwan) also available. Click here to book.

Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel

The beach will be open on July 1st with reduced capacity. Beach, watersports, and sailing are open from 8:00 am to sunset. Prior booking is required for outside guests.

Simaisma, A Murwab Resort

The beach resort is reopening on July 1. For more information or reservations call 4479 9530 or 4479 9531

The St. Regis Doha

The beach will be open for both in-house guests and day-use guests. Beach day pass: QR 450. Beach is open from 7 am to sunset.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha

The beach will reopen on July 1 and will be open from 6 am to sunset. Access available only for the in-house guests, recreation members, and walk-in with a day pass. Kids and adult activities will be available outdoor morning early and late in the evening due to the weather conditions.

Beach Day pass available only during the weekdays as the below price:
Adult 300 QR with 100 QR Credit
Couple Male & Female 450 QR with 100 QR Credit Voucher
Family 2 Adult & 2 kids age 3 to 12 yrs old 650 QR with 150 QR Credit Voucher
Nanny + Kids 3 to 12 years old without parents 300 QR for Nanny + 100 QR per kid

Water Park Coming soon In July (date will be announced soon) l Operation Hours: 2 pm to Sunset
- In-house guests will get a voucher "buy one get one free"

Precautionary measures

According to the Ministry of Public Health, precautionary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 must still be followed. This includes:

  • ​Individuals must download the Etheraz app and the status must be green.
  • Avoid physical contact e.g. hugging, handshakes etc.
  • Avoid spitting.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue, or if not available into your elbow. Dispose of any tissues in waste bins.
  • Ensure physical distancing
