The Ministry of Labor launched Wednesday inspection campaigns on workers' housing and workplaces to monitor companies' commitment to implementing the measures taken to protect workers and mitigate the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In this context, the ministry sent awareness messages to company owners regarding preventive and precautionary measures and assigned teams of inspectors to ensure compliance with preventive measures.

The inspection teams, during their tours, ensure the use of masks and the availability of hand sanitizer in the workplace, follow up the process of gradual entry and exit for workers in the workplace, and limit the use of common spaces to a limited number of workers at the same time in accordance with the safe distance announced by the Ministry of Public Health.

The Ministry of Labor also monitors reducing the population density in workers' housing so that the number does not exceed four workers in one room, the commitment of banning all personal meetings that are not necessary, isolating the worker who suffers from high temperature and informing the Ministry of Public Health of that through the hotline.

The Ministry of Labor stressed the need to provide sterilizers and disinfectants in the places where workers are present, increase routine sterilization procedures for areas with high human contact in worksites, accommodation and buses, and provide disposable wipes so that workers can wipe commonly used surfaces.

The ministry called on companies to abide by the measures that must be taken in the workplace and housing to protect workers and mitigate the COVID-19 spread.
