The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, through its Circular No. 13 dated 3 March 2021 has confirmed a series of measures that have been taken in coordination with the competent authorities in the country emphasising the importance of taking the COVID-19 vaccination as protection and prevention of infection against the virus to ensure the safety of the educational and administrative staff and the safety of the students in schools.

The Ministry affirms that no school employee will be allowed to on school premises unless they

  • Show the COVID-19 vaccine certificate.
  • Show the golden frame and the stamp of the vaccine when showing the EHTERAZ app.
  • Show proof that the employee has done a weekly COVID-19 test

These measures will go into effect starting on 21 March 2021.

In the event of a confirmed infection or contact with a confirmed infection, the quarantine period will be calculated without pay, and that is for every employee who had the opportunity to take the vaccine and failed to do it for unacceptable reasons.

Accordingly, the Ministry calls on all school employees to take the vaccination and not miss the specified dates in order to preserve their safety and the safety of students, with a reminder that the priority for vaccinating school personnel will end by the end of March.

These measures come as an affirmation of the Ministry's role in protecting and providing a safe environment for students and school staff.
