COVID-19 preventive measures for Eid Al Fitr prayer

The COVID-19 preventive measures for Eid Al Fitr prayer in mosques and prayer grounds were announced Tuesday by the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, on its Twitter account.

According to the Ministry, those who will head to mosques and prayer grounds should:

  • Wear face masks in mosques and prayer grounds
  • Bring own prayer mats and maintain a safe distance of one and a half meters in between worshippers
  • Show the green status on the Ehteraz app upon entrance to mosques and prayer grounds
  • Cooperate with members of the Organising Committee of the Mosques Management Department
  • Not shake hands
  • Avoid crowding at the gates and doors of mosques and prayer grounds and follow safe distancing

The Ministry also reiterated that children under 12 years will be not be allowed to Eid Al Fitr prayer congregation and women's prayer areas in mosques and prayer grounds will be closed.
