More than 60 people referred to Public Prosecution for not wearing masks

The Ministry of Interior reported on December 6, that the authorities have referred 67 people to the Public Prosecution for not wearing masks in places where they are mandatory. This is in the implementation of the cabinet decision and Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases, and the preventive and precautionary measures in place to limit the spread of coronavirus.

To date, the number of people referred to Public Prosecution for not wearing masks is now 2,396.

The authorities have been continuously warning the public to follow precautionary measures like wearing masks, following social distancing, and restricting the number of people in vehicles to prevent the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The competent authorities called on the public to adhere to the precautionary and preventive decisions in force to protect them and others from the spread of the Coronavirus in society.

What are the COVID-19 Precautionary Measures in Qatar?

1. Only 4 passengers including the driver allowed in a vehicle, families exempted

2. Masks are compulsory in a car

3. Compulsory to wear face masks when leaving the house - wear it or get fined 200,000 riyals

These actions are taken as part of the continuing efforts of the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior to ensure compliance with preventive and precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
