216 new coronavirus (COVID-19) cases, 20 new recoveries recorded in Qatar: MoPH

The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has just announced the registration of 216 new confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) bringing the total number of positive cases in Qatar to date to 2728, and has stated that 20 more people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of people that have recovered in Qatar to 247.

Some new cases are related to travellers who came to Qatar; some are related to contacts and others are due to people having contact with recently diagnosed citizens and residents who have coronavirus (COVID-19). The new cases have been put into quarantine and are receiving the necessary medical care.

The MoPH also conducted laboratory tests for 2,412 people in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of coronavirus (COVID-19) tests to date to 47,751.

The MoPH calls upon citizens and residents under home quarantine to strictly adhere to the specific requirements and quarantine procedures. The Ministry stressed the importance of staying at home and physical distancing in curbing the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Qatar.​
