169 people referred to Public Prosecution for violating COVID-19 precautionary measures

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has referred 169 more people to the Public Prosecution on November 20 for not wearing masks, which is mandatory as part of the coronavirus (COVID-19) precautionary measures.

In addition, there were 25 violations reported for exceeding the maximum number of people in a vehicle.

These measures are in line with the cabinet decision based on Law No. 17 of 1990 regarding infectious diseases and the preventive and precautionary measures in place to limit the spread of the virus.

What are the COVID-19 precautionary measures in Qatar?

1. Only 4 passengers including the driver allowed in a vehicle, families exempted
2. Masks are compulsory in a car
3. Compulsory to wear face masks when leaving the house - wear it or get fined 200,000 riyals

These actions are taken as part of the continuing efforts of the competent authorities at the Ministry of Interior to ensure compliance with preventive and precautionary measures to limit the spread of the Coronavirus.
