Covid19-quarantine

You definitely have heard or seen the news about the number of confirmed cases in Qatar for Covid-19 and the number of people in quarantine, but do you know what they actually mean? Let's learn more about this by scrolling all the way down.

What is Quarantine?

  • People under quarantine means under observation to see if the result is positive or negative.
  • The Qatari nationals who were evacuated from Iran were under quarantine for 14 days
  • Other residents/travelers who came from those infected countries were under the quarantine facility as well.
  • They stay in an isolated room in a designated facility until the result comes out
  • Once their results come out negative, they will be released. (See PHCC releases 121 citizens from quarantine)
  • Therefore, quarantine does NOT mean a confirmed case.

What is Confirmed Case?

  • Confirmed cases mean people who have a positive result for Covid-19.
  • These people will be taken to a specialized facility for the treatment and they will stay until they are cured.
  • As of Match 13, we have 262 cases since February 29th.
  • No cure or death has been reported yet.
