As of 4 April 2021, 25.4% of the eligible population has already received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine since the national vaccination campaign started on 23 December 2020. Qatar is currently administering the COVID-19 vaccine from two companies: Pfizer-BioNtech and Moderna.

But like other vaccines, individuals who have received the COVID-19 vaccine may develop side effects from it. The side effects are usually minor and are a normal occurrence as our bodies build immunity to the virus. However, some individuals may also develop more severe side effects.

What are the side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine?

Extensive clinical trials and real-life use of the vaccine on more than 200 million people around the world have shown the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines to be safe. However, as with any vaccine, people may experience mild side effects including low-grade fever, mild headache, fatigue, and soreness at the injection site. - MoPH COVID-19 Vaccine FAQ
