The Ministry of Public Health has announced updates regarding the travel and return policy for COVID-19, effective Monday, 28 February 2022 at 7 pm.​ As per the announcement, Qatar removes hotel quarantine for fully vaccinated and recovered citizens and residents.

Fully vaccinated citizens and residents are required to have a Rapid Antigen Test at any public or authorized private clinics within 24 hours of their arrival in Qatar.

Which groups are required to quarantine upon arrival to Qatar?

Citizens and residents

  • Unvaccinated or non-immune citizens arriving in Qatar from any country must do 5 days home quarantine and PCR test within 24 hours of arrival, plus Rapid Antigen Test on day 5 of home quarantine.
  • Unvaccinated or non-immune residents arriving from non-red list countries 5 days home quarantine and PCR test within 24 hours of arrival, plus Rapid Antigen Test on day 5 of home quarantine.
  • Unvaccinated or non-immune residents arriving from red-list countries must do 5 days hotel quarantine and Rapid Antigen Test on day 5 of Hotel quarantine.

GCC Citizens (who are Non-Residents)

  • Fully vaccinated or recovered GCC Citizens from non-red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, they are exempted from quarantine.
  • Unvaccinated or non-immune GCC Citizens from non-red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, they have to undergo 5 days Hotel or home quarantine for those with first-degree relatives (on condition that proof of relationship and residence is provided). Must conduct Rapid Antigen Test on day 5 of hotel/home quarantine.
  • Fully vaccinated or recovered GCC Citizens from red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, undergo 1-day Hotel quarantine, Rapid Antigen Test on day 1 of hotel quarantine.
  • Unvaccinated or non-immune GCC Citizens from red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, undergo 5 days Hotel quarantine, Rapid Antigen Test on day 5 of hotel quarantine.

Visitors

  • Fully vaccinated or recovered visitors from non-red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, exempted from quarantine.
  • Unvaccinated or non-immune visitors from non-red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, undergo 5 days hotel, or home quarantine for those with first-degree relatives (on condition that proof of relationship and residence is provided), conduct Rapid Antigen Test on day 5 of hotel/home quarantine.
  • Fully vaccinated or recovered visitors from red list countries must submit a negative pre-travel PCR lab result with a validity of 48 hours from departure time at the country of origin, undergo a 1-day hotel quarantine, conduct Rapid Antigen Test on day 1 of hotel quarantine
  • Unvaccinated or non-immune visitors from red list countries have no entry into Qatar.
