The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) issued a decision to exempt certain groups from the request to access the industrial area. The decision complements the previous decisions and measures taken by the State of Qatar to prevent and limit the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and in response to new developments and urgent public needs that do not conflict with medical and preventive data.

The decision stated that the exempted categories are flatbed car trailers transporting personal cars located in industrial areas, sewage and water trucks, cleaning and garbage collection trucks, cement transport and mixing trucks and vehicles for money transfer companies.

The decision stipulated that the exempted categories should download EHTERAZ application as a compulsory condition to enter and exit the industrial area, as well as wearing surgical masks and gloves, and to adhere to the requirements of safety and health at the workplace and the requirement of safe distance, at least two meters between all workers and to take other preventive measures.

The decision also stipulated that all companies should strictly abide by the policy of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Public Health regarding the measures that companies must take in the workplace and housing to protect workers and limit the spread of the epidemic.

The Ministry warned that violators of the provisions of this decision will be held accountable, calling on the competent authority to implement its provisions.
