As per QNA, the Cabinet announces on 19 October 2022 that masks will no longer be required in public transportation. This decision shall take effect on Sunday, 23 October 2022.

Citizens, residents and visitors are no longer required to wear masks in public transportation and will only be obliged to wear them if they are inside health facilities. Apart from that, all employees and workers whose nature of work requires being in closed places and communicating with customers, are still required to wear masks during their work period.

The cabinet has decided to amend its previous decision issued last 31 August 2022 regarding the wearing of masks in certain public areas.
