[UPDATED] List of parks reopening as Phase 1 of gradual lifting restrictions

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy announced that "Al Janoub Park and Al Ersal Park have reopened to the public today, in line with regulations issued by the State of Qatar. Please note that only sporting activities will be allowed in the parks and visitors must adhere to social distancing guidelines."

UPDATE: Wednesday, 17 June 2020 4:13 PM

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy announced that "In line with regulations issued by the State of Qatar, Al Bayt Park will reopen to the public from tomorrow. Please note that only sporting activities will be allowed in the park and visitors must adhere to social distancing guidelines."

Hotel Park is now open for exercising from 4 am to 9 am and from 4 pm to 10 pm!

UPDATE: Monday, 15 June 2020 5:15 PM

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment has announced that Al Bidda Park is also now opened to the public for exercise and sporting activities from 4 am to 10 pm.

MIA Park remains closed until further notice, according to Qatar Museums.

Katara announced via its Twitter Page that the North and South Katara Hills promenade will reopen for walking and exercise starting from Monday 15 June, with the need to adhere to precautionary and preventive measures and to avoid any gatherings or mixing with other people as it’s forbidden under the current circumstances.

This brings the total number of parks that will reopen tomorrow to 10:

  1. North and South Katara Hills
  2. Aspire Park
  3. Al Wakra Public Park
  4. Al Shamal City Park
  5. Legtayifya 66 park
  6. Al Khor Park
  7. Al Sailiya Park (Abu Nakhla)
  8. Museum Park
  9. Al Dafna Park
  10. Al Rayyan Park (green carpet)

Aspire Park has just been added to the list of parks to be opened from 15 June 2020 as Phase 1 of the lifting of coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions sets in motion. Children can also walk with their family on the Aspire Park walking tracks as long as they adhere to the precautionary and preventive measures put forward and everyone must show green status on the Ehteraz app. However, it is still better to avoid taking the children.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment announced 8 parks for the public to access as gradual lifting restrictions phase 1. MME has also announced the procedures and conditions for entering the limited number of public gardens and parks that will be opened to the public Monday to exercise and practice sports, as part of the comprehensive plan to gradually lift the restrictions imposed earlier to curb the spread of coronavirus COVID-19.

Below parks will be open from 4 am - 9 am and 4 pm - 10 pm with strict precautionary and preventive measures to be followed for everyone's safety.

List of parks:

  • Al Wakra Public Park
  • Al Shamal City Park
  • Legtayifya 66 park
  • Al Khor Park
  • Al Sailiya Park (Abu Nakhla)
  • Museum Park - This is not MIA park
  • Al Dafna Park
  • Al Rayyan Park (green carpet)

Precautionary and Preventive Measures:

  • Only after checking the colour code identifying the individual's health condition in the Ehteraz app. Only green code holders are allowed in.
  • Measuring the body temperature of workers and visitors at all entrances and preventing those with temperatures above 38° C from entering the park.
  • Follow safety precautions and cooperate with security
  • Keep a safe physical distance of 3 meters
  • No sitting or gathering in parks, which are meant for exercising and practicing sports only
  • Safely disposing of discarded items at designated spots
  • Maintaining personal and public hygiene standards within and outside the parks
