The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has reiterated warning of any gatherings in public places, including holding group prayers in the squares, rooftops, or buildings, as part of the precautionary and preventive measures against the coronavirus (Covid-19).

The Ministry said in a new awareness message, "It prohibits gatherings at beaches and squares and in front of restaurants and cafeterias. It also prevents the holding of congregational prayers in the courtyards of mosques, rooftops, buildings, or any other square in order to preserve your safety."

The Ministry warned that anyone who violates this would expose himself to imprisonment penalties for a period not exceeding three years and a fine of no more than QR 200,000 or one of these two penalties.
