All precautions being taken to ensure students safety in secondary school exams: Ministry of Education

The examinations of the end of the second semester of the general and specialised Secondary School Certificate for the academic year 2019/2020 started today, and will continue for a period of two weeks, to end on June 13.

The exams are performed by 11,500 students, spread over 149 centres , at a time when the Ministry of Education and Higher Education plans to allocate about 6,100 employees to work as monitors and steering committees.

His Excellency (H.E.) Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi, affirmed that the Ministry had taken, within the measures taken by the State, to curb the outbreak of the new corona epidemic, all precautionary and preventive measures that will ensure the health and safety of male and female students, and all school personnel during the examinations .

His Excellency noted in this regard that the Ministry of Education and Higher Education had set standards and requirements for safety in terms of the safe distance between students, providing a safe and healthy environment to perform the examinations, taking into account the current conditions and reducing exams time and the number of questions included in each examination.

This came during his visit today to Doha Preparatory and Secondary Schools for Boys to check on the proper functioning of the exams, and the precautionary measures to curb the outbreak of the corona epidemic in the new high school certificate committees.

H.E. the Minster praised the close and constructive cooperation between the Ministry and the ministries and departments concerned in the State, in order to secure the examinations and take all precautions, which made them go smoothly and quietly. H.E. the Minister expressed thanks to the teaching and administrative bodies that carry out their work with all sincerity and responsibility, whether in developing examinations, monitoring or marking, wishing success to all male and female students.
