Companies, businessmen in Qatar offer factories, homes, food products for free to combat coronavirus (COVID-19)

In a show of solidarity at a critical time when Qatar is doing whatever it can to prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country, a number of Qatari businessmen and company owners are stepping up to help Qatari citizens and expats here by offering factories, homes and food products for free to help Qatar in its efforts to combat the epidemic, according to the Qatar Tribune.

Here are just some of things that these businesses are offering:

Athba Farm for Poultry and Quail

Athba Farm for Poultry and Quail has offered to provide 10 tonnes of fresh chicken products for free to help the country in its quarantine efforts.

Al Aker Food Products Company

Al Aker Food Products Company said Al Aker sweets and restaurants are offering to provide food at all the quarantine place, to medical staff and security personnel on the quarantine job without any charge.

Al Wajba Dairy Factory

Al Wajba Dairy Factory is fully prepared to supply dairy products for free to any hotel that has been used as a quarantine facility under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health.

Folad Industries

Folad Industries has announced that the factory, all its equipment and technical expertise are at the disposal of Qatar and the Ministry of Public Health and can provide necessary materials manufactured from iron and aluminum to serve hospitals and quarantine facilities.

Qatar Press Company

The Qatar Press Company has announced that it will distribute 60,000 paper cups of different sizes to Qataris and residents for free within Doha.

Oryx Group Services, Hospitality and Cleaning Companies

The management of the Oryx Group Services, Hospitality and Cleaning Companies said they can assist the Supreme Committee for Crisis Management in cleaning and sterilising quarantine sites for free.

Retaj Salwa Resort

The owners of the Retaj Salwa Resort have announced that their resort, which includes 90 villas and 78 rooms, are at the state’s disposal to be used as a quarantine facility for free, according to a tweet.

Time Rako Hotel

Lahdan bin Issa al Hassan al Muhannadi, owner of Time Rako Hotel, said the hotel can be used by Qatar in its battle against the virus.

Simaisma Restaurants Group

Simaisma Restaurants Group said its restaurants will be at the service of Qatar in the battle against the virus. The restaurants are ready to supply quarantine places with healthy meals free of charge.

Katara Hospitality, Mall of Qatar, Msheireb Properties, Hassad Food Company, Woqod, Ezdan Mall and Hotels and others

All of the above companies and others have announced that all stores or restaurants will be exempt from rent for the next few months.

Jamal Jeham Abdulaziz al Kuwari

Jamal Jeham Abdulaziz al Kuwari owns a factory in the Industrial Area with an area of ​​9,000 square metres that has huge offices and warehouses. He said the place is at the disposal of Qatar and is suitable to be used as medical staff offices, storage for medical materials or as a place for quarantine.

Juma bin Shaqr al Shahwani

Juma bin Shaqr al Shahwani, a citizen, said that he owns a building with four air-conditioned apartments and an exhibition hall that can be used as a clinic in Al Khor.
