Title: Kitchen Porter
We are looking for a Kitchen Porter to clean our kitchen and support our cooking staff. This is an entry-level job but if you’re good at it, you’ll be in valuable in making sure our kitchen is always sanitized and tidy.
Main Responsibilities:
Commis chef job is a junior or apprentice chef. Commis chefs learn about each different sections of the kitchen in detail and a commis chef job will normally entail working for three to six months in each section of the kitchen to gain experience. In larger kitchens, a commis chef would be assigned to each station, i.e. sauce, larder and pastry to name but a few.
The Commis Chef job would possibly start as a kitchen assistant or kitchen porter, with the idea of being promoted to commis chef once the basics of veg prep and the working of the kitchen have been learned. Hygiene is essential for the safe preparation of food so this side of the work is an important commis chef function.
A commis chef should have a keen interest in food preparation, be able to deal with pressure, doing several things at once and enjoy working as part of a team.
The position of commis chef is a varied role where the chef can decide which area of the kitchen their preference lies, enabling them to specialise as they rise through the ranks.
Qualification and Required Skills:
Should be willing to join in the company in less than or a month time. With Valid QID and Food Handling Certificate is a must. Other documents to comply for submission.
