FORTS
Qatar has a great history to share with the world. There are several forts which still stand to this day which date back to hundreds of years. You could say this is an archaeologists dream. Entry to all forts is free so why not visit a couple during your visit? Click into this section for information on Al Wajbah, Zubara, Al Rakiyat, Umm Salal, Windtower House, and Doha Fort.
MUSEUMS
You'd be amazed at the amount of museums that are sprouting up around Qatar. Most are quite cozy, but each have a story to tell. Qatar's history is quite new, but it's still a great idea to travel around to each one and take educate yourself when it comes to Islamic Art (in the world's largest Islamic Art Museum), Arabian Weaponry, and much more.
PARKS
Something that's great to do when you want to unwind and spend some time at a park or even by the sea. Granted during summer time, certain times of the day can be too hot for any human to enjoy, but that still leaves so many other months of the year. Add to the fact that it feels absolutely great when a soft breeze wisps across your face and you've got a relaxing day out.
TOURS
So you're a touring person huh? There's plenty of guides and tours to go through in order to enjoy a great day out. Tours include city tours, safaris, mosque tours, activity tours, and then you've got the wide open sea! We'll do our best to cover everything there is to enjoying the sights hassle free. Be prepared though because you might find that you're addicted to 4WDs.
Qatar will soon be building the largest park in the Middle East. It shall be in the Al Rayyan area and spread accross 20 hectares. That's around the size of 20 football fields. The media are dubbing it the 'Gulf's Hyde Park'. Click here for more info.
  Museum Park

This is a great park to go to if you want to have a mixed day. It's right next to the museum, so you can go in for a quick view, it overlooks the Corniche, and has some great places to sit to enjoy a picnic. The area might be under a bit of renovation as they expand the park but it's still a place to unwind and have a relaxing day.

Location: Doha Corniche
Hours: 8am-11pm

  Al Bidda Park

It  One of Qatar's most popular parks. This too is on the corniche and has some great views. All complete with waterfall, tower, blading track, and lake. Watch out though, it can get pretty packed. So unless you like crowds, make sure you don't go on weekends in the evening. This park has an amphitheatre, which is used for special events and shows. WIthin the park, you'll find Heritage Village which was desgined to look like a traditional Qatari village. There are a few shops here to buy some snacks and have some ice-cream, but you're not going there to really eat are you? The park stretches along two miles and can be accessed from any area. Parking is on the roadside parking spots.

Location: Corniche
Hours: 8am-1pm - 4pm-7pm

  Dahal Al Hamam Park

CThis park has recently been finished and is yet again being expanded. It was aiming to be the number one park destination in Qatar, however that's since changed as the largest one in the Middle East is being built in Al Rayyan. That's not to say that this isn't a nice place either of course. It hosts cafes, toilets, playgrounds, football fields, cycle tracks, and an amphitheatre. It's also a nice place to visit at night, and so far it doesn't get as crowded as Al Bidda Park.

Location: Madinat Khalifa North
Hours: 4pm-12am (8am-12am Friday and Saturday)

  Sheraton Park

I think this has to my favourite park. I'd say it's because it has a combination of nature and has a perfect view of the skyline. I'm a city person but it doesn't mean I don't like look at the sea and greenery too. You'll get a view of one of Qatar's famous icons too, the Sheraton hotel. It looks like a Mayan temple.

Location: Sheraton Westbay
Hours: 8am - 11pm

  Al Muntazah Park

According I think that this could be considered the oldest park in Qatar. Very large trees and plain grass areas. As far as I'm aware, this park is only for women and children (up to the age of 9 if you're a boy). As with most parks, it gets pretty busy in the weekends. This park is also being renovated to update it and give it a modern touch. It's going to be divided into four sections when complete. A water feature, skating area, family zone, and a small zoo.

Location: C-Ring Road and Muntazah Street
Hours: 9am-10pm
