The opening of the Doha Festival City Leisure trail 22nd October 2017 was a huge success with 600 people taking part in activities from the early hours of the morning.
Members of the Qatar Cycling Federation kicked off proceedings with a fast-paced time trial around the circuit, with David Nichols winning with a time of 6 minutes and 10 seconds
Participants then walked, ran and cycled their way around the 3 km track surrounding the Mall. While over in the event village, XREBEL stunt riders from XTÔRK gave three breath-taking shows that wowed spectators, who also enjoyed a special appearance from Red Bull BMX athlete, Mansour Al Safran.
Trevor Hill, General Manager of Doha Festival City Mall said: “We were very excited to welcome our first visitors to the Outdoor Leisure Trail today, it’s amazing to see our vision of creating a space for the whole community, come to life. The trail has been specially designed for people of all ages and abilities to enjoy so we want to encourage everyone to come down, try it out and get active!”
