This week, we're shining the spotlight on Al Mosak -- a concept restaurant that offers a wide variety of fresh diet and gym food to make the people of Qatar switch to the healthier side! Being in the Food and Beverage (F&B) industry for a year now, Al Mosak provides top quality healthy dining experience that exceeds the expectation of their esteemed customers. Its two Qatari owners -- Abdullah Alkuwari (AA) and Rashid Alkuwari (RA) -- said that their business is relevant as many people in Qatar are becoming more aware of keeping fit by going to the gym and of course, eating healthier.
"We started as a restaurant then moved to central kitchen where we began offering food cooked fresh every day and delivered right to our customers' door," explained AA. He also noted that despite the in surge in F&B startups mushrooming across Qatar, Al Mosak is confident that they will still stand out as they're one of the very few who cooks only the freshest ingredients and sweets which are completely sugar-free! They have healthy burgers, wraps, meatballs, and pastas, etc. Some of their tasty and healthy desserts include cheesecakes, macaroons, brownies, cookies and more.
Al Mosak has been originally established as a healthy restaurant franchise from Kuwait, but RA clarifies that the company is now 100% Qatari. He added: "We also offer membership services that aims to deliver food to customers with the number of meals depending on their choice and liking. They can choose from monthly packages starting from 2 to 6 meals per day."
Believing that a person could achieve a healthy life style while enjoying tasty diet food, the Al Mosak team is dedicated to hiring only the best staff. "We're happy to say that Al Mosak has around 50 employees at the moment and the number is increasing. Three chefs manage the restaurants while two main chefs look over the catering services," noted AA. And because Al Mosak caters to only healthy food and the wellness of its customers, a diet expert has been hired to advice customers on the membership services and provide them with a food plan that is suitable for their target.
The two young Qatari business entrepreneurs also mentioned that the response from their customers is unimaginably massive. "We already have some very loyal ones who keeps coming back and they're very much happy with the services that Al Mosak is offering especially when it comes to our diet foods' supreme quality."
Al Mosak is one of the several independent F&B startups in Qatar which didn't seek any help or financial aide from either the Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) or Digital Incubation Center (DIC). Another proud moment for the team is when they participate in sport events such as the Esrar Race -- being the most recent -- where Al Mosak fed more than 600 athletes and spectators alike.
When asked about their advice for people who are also interested in opening up startups of their own, the duo has this to say: "Try to do business in a field you're most comfortable at. If you have no interest in what you're investing in, then you will never succeed." They also hinted that in addition to their restaurant membership services, Al Mosak will also soon invest in establishing gym centers across Qatar.
