How’s your January fitness kick? Did you promise to eat healthier and work out more after those end of year celebrations? As the first month of 2017 draws to a close some of us may need a little inspiration to keep on the fitness track. What better way to pick up your healthy game than with this Super Green Smoothie?
Dark green leafy vegetables such as kale are natural super-foods. Full of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and fibre, they’re a powerhouse of nutritional content and we all need to eat more greens! This Super Green Smoothie is a delicious way to boost your daily fruit and veggie intake and keep you hydrated.
Thick, nourishing and loaded with raw fruit and vegetables, smoothies are a great way to pack a nutritious punch in one quick and easy meal. As an added bonus they’re super easy and quick to make – there’s no cooking, no pots and pans, no fuss – just load up your blender with some deliciously ripe fruit, green leafy vegetables, water and whizz away!
For anyone new to smoothies – all you need is a good blender and your chosen ingredients. Experiment with lots of flavours to suit your taste-buds and you’ll be whipping up smoothies in no time. How about adding a handful of nuts, fresh ginger, a drizzle of honey or splash of coconut water? The possibilities are endless.
For this Super Green Smoothie try to use the freshest, ripest fruit possible. This will help to make your smoothie naturally sweet and you won’t taste the green leaves. You can easily switch kale for baby spinach or any other green leaf that you prefer.
So, when the afternoon yawns start to appear – ditch those sugary and salty snacks for a glass of green goodness.
