Japanese association, Fanar organise mosque tour

(Japanese group at the Mosque) Members of the Japanese Association of Qatar in collaboration with Al Fanar Centre conducted a Mosque tours on Friday. Over 180 people took part in the tour including the Japanese Ambassador Yukio Kitazume and his wife. The tour programme started at the Japanese Embassy with a short journey along the Corniche and then to Abdullah bin Suraqa mosque where the details of one of the oldest mosques in Doha were explained. The tour led by Japanese tour guide Mohammed Takeshi Fukushima highlighted the importance of mosque as a religious and cultural centre as well the function of external features of mosque like Minarat. As part of the tour, members of the Association visited Al Fanar Qatar Islamic Cultural Centre, where briefed where they were welcomed with traditional Arabic coffee and dates. The guests then toured various departments of the centre. The ambassador said that it was the first time he visited a mosque and got detailed information about Islam.
